The 2021 release from Nike SB and Baltimore skate shop, Carpet Company, added to the extensive SB Dunk catalog. Known for their 1-of-1 tees and customized skate decks, Carpet Company adds these same DIY characteristics to their first SB collaboration.
The Nike SB Dunk High Carpet Company provides wearers with the ability to rip up the sneaker to their liking with tearaway uppers. White tumbled leather is paired with a semi-translucent blue layer that pays homage to the art of screen printing, a common artistic practice that the shop uses for their unique shirts. Underneath the blue fabric is yellow leather with embroidered graphics, giving a whole new look and feel to the sneaker itself. Hidden messages also appear on the heel with quotes from the Egyptian brothers that own Carpet Company, the left heel stating "Brought To You By The Habibis At Carpet Company", while the right shows "Nike" in Arabic calligraphy.
